The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run returns for 2026, taking place in Glasgow on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. Celtic FC Foundation invites supporters to run, walk, or join family races while raising funds for community projects. The course starts in the city centre, showcases Glasgowâs iconic sights, and finishes at Glasgow Green.
As Scotlandâs largest running event, the Great Scottish Run draws participants of all ages. A walking option lets anyone enjoy the scenic route and landmark views. The foundationâs involvement highlights its commitment to vulnerable groups, focusing on poverty alleviation and inclusive community programs.
Race Options and Age Requirements
Runners and walkers can choose between two main distances on Sunday, October 4. The 10K course is open to athletes aged 15 and over, while the HalfâMarathon welcomes participants from 17 years old. All entrants experience a route that passes through Glasgowâs most eyeâcatching locations before crossing the finish line at Glasgow Green.
Family participants are not left out. Super Saturday features three youth events: the Junior Event for ages 9â15 covering 2.5K, the Mini Event for ages 3â8 over 70m or 1.5K, and the free Toddler Dash for children aged 1â3. These sessions give young runners a chance to experience the atmosphere of Scotlandâs biggest road race.
Entry Fees and Registration
Earlyâbird prices are currently available for the adult races: the 10K costs ÂŁ38 and the HalfâMarathon ÂŁ45. All bookings include additional fees on top of these amounts. Childrenâs entries are priced at ÂŁ17 for the Junior and Mini events, while the Toddler Dash is complimentary.
