Lucas Glover Shoots 63, Takes ISCO Lead After Twin Birdies

Lucas Glover Shares ISCO Championship Lead

Leader Board Highlights

Lucas Glover birdied the final two holes, sinking an 11‑foot putt at the par‑3 17th and then rolling in a 163‑yard shot to three feet on the par‑4 18th for a 7‑under 63.

He now shares the first‑round lead with three other players: Steven Fisk, Stephan Jaeger and Troy Merritt at Hurstbourne Country Club.

The ISCO Championship runs opposite the Scottish Open and carries sanctioning from both the PGA Tour and the European Tour.

Top Finishers and Notable Scores

Pontus Nyholm and Chan Kim sit one stroke behind the leaders after matching solid rounds.

Patton Kizzire opened with a 65 and is tied with Adam Svensson, Jeffrey Kang, Jeong Weon Ko, Aaron Wise and Ben James.

Max Homa, who finished second at the John Deere Classic last week, posted a 67, as did Jackson Koivun on his professional debut after a missed cut.

Course Conditions and Player Comments

Nyholm described the morning conditions as “pretty easy — no wind and pretty soft greens,” noting that the course becomes tougher when the surface firms.

Glover praised his start, saying it mirrored his successful opening at the John Deere Classic and that he loved the layout, hoping for more rounds like it.

Defending champion William Mouw and NCAA champion Preston Stout both shot 68, leaving them several strokes off the lead.

Road to PGA Championship

The tournament winner earns automatic entry into next year’s PGA Championship, though the Masters remains out of reach for the victor.

Glover’s early performance builds on his recent success, having finished third at the John Deere Classic after a 63 in the opening round there.

All eyes will be on whether the current group of leaders can maintain their momentum as the field tightens over the coming rounds.
