Draft Background and Rankings

Before the draft, Grant was listed as MLB Pipeline’s 212th overall prospect, ESPN’s 125th, and Prep Baseball Report’s 54th in the 2026 class. Despite those rankings, he was not selected in the first nine rounds. The undrafted status gave him the chance to return to college and continue his development under the Volunteers.

High School Dominance

The Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year attended Center Grove High School in Greenwood, just south of Indianapolis. He posted a 6‑0 record with a 0.76 ERA and recorded 58 strikeouts over 37 innings during the regular season. Grant also beat out fellow signee Sean Dunlap, who hails from Crown Point.

Future Outlook for the Pitcher
