FSU Adds Four-Star Athlete Za’Kari Johnson to 2027 Class
Florida State secured a major addition for its 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday, pulling in four‑star athlete Za’Kari Johnson. He is ranked No. 21 among athletes and No. 349 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The 6‑foot‑1, 196‑pound prospect hails from Opa Locka, Florida, and chose the Seminoles over a slew of Power‑Five offers. Johnson’s decision came after he moved up from the 2028 to the 2027 class earlier this year.
Last season, Johnson played a dual role at Plantation High, featuring as both quarterback and defensive back. He threw for seven touchdowns and added nine rushing scores, accumulating 1,328 total offensive yards. On the defensive side, he recorded ten tackles, four pass breakups, a fumble recovery and an interception.
Strengthening the 2027 Roster
Johnson’s arrival gives FSU a versatile skill‑player who can contribute on both sides of the ball, adding depth to a class that already features a mix of position‑satters. The current 2027 commitments include a solid blend of offensive and defensive talent.
