Wrexham Women Add Bella Reidford for Champions League
New Midfielder Joins From Stoke City
Wrexham Women have signed Bella Reidford, a 23‑year‑old midfielder, from Stoke City. The former Wales Under‑17s and Under‑19s international becomes the fourth summer signing after Lucy Farrell, Mikayla Cook and Natasha Thomas joined the squad. Reidford, who is born in Wrexham, spent time with Tranmere Rovers before progressing through Manchester United’s academy, where she captained the side in the FA Youth Cup final.
After two seasons with Burnley, Reidford moved to Stoke City and featured in 20 matches during the 2025‑26 campaign. She brings a blend of experience from Welsh youth teams and several seasons in England’s tier‑three leagues. Wrexham head coach Jenny Sugarman praised the signing, highlighting Reidford’s seamless fit and the added energy she brings to the midfield.
Coach’s Praise and Squad Impact
Jenny Sugarman said Bella has fitted into the squad seamlessly, noting her wealth of experience as a Welsh youth international and her time across tier three in England. The coach added that her energy and technical quality on the pitch will give the team further options in midfield, and she remains keen to develop herself with the Welsh side.
Reidford’s arrival is viewed as a strategic boost ahead of the Adran Premier champions’ UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign. The side will face FC Pyunik at the Racecourse on Wednesday, 22 July at 19:00 BST in the first qualifying round.
