I want to thank all of our supporters, fans and donors for all that they’ve done investing in this program.” The coach highlighted the adversity the staff and players faced in the early stages of rebuilding. He added, “I’m grateful for all of the adversity that we went through in the early stages of building the program. But I’m more thankful for just the commitment, the commitment of the staff, commitment of the players, to the vision.”

The philosophical foundation from Clemson, where confidence was built on a solid base, guided Elliott’s approach at Virginia. He explained, “That’s where our confidence came from, and so naturally that was going to be the inspiration for what we wanted to do at the University of Virginia from a foundational standpoint.” Now, he says, the footing is solid and the program is ready to build on what’s been accomplished.
