The live tracker also shows how bonus points evolve as the game unfolds. By monitoring these changes, managers can adjust tactics or transfers on the fly. The feature aims to make the competition feel more dynamic and engaging.

Bonus Points System Overhaul

The BPS now awards one point for every three clearances, blocks and interceptions instead of two. Players are no longer penalised when tackled, removing the previous -1 BPS deduction. Goalkeepers keep a 3‑point bonus for saves from inside the box, but the 2‑point reward for outside‑box saves has been removed.

Any goalkeeper save, including those off a teammate’s cross, now earns 2 BPS. An extra point is added for saving a “big chance,” and penalty‑save bonuses have been reduced from 8 to 7 BPS to balance the new big‑chance reward. The adjustments aim to widen bonus opportunities for defenders, full‑backs and attackers while keeping the system fair.

Gameweek Lock‑down Shifted Later

The lockdown now extends until 9 AM UK on the day after the final match of each gameweek, rather than just one hour after the last game. This extra window gives Opta more time to review post‑match data and refine both bonus points and defensive contribution scores. As a result, final points are expected to be more accurate.

The change also reduces the chance of last‑minute point adjustments, improving confidence in the scoring process. Managers can rely on a more stable snapshot of performance as the season progresses.

Career History Comparison Tool

A new feature lets managers compare their overall seasonal average against the worldwide FPL population. Chips Remain Unchanged for 2026/27

The chip lineup stays the same: Wildcard, Free Hit, Triple Captain and Bench Boost, split into two halves of the campaign. The first set must be used before the Gameweek 19 deadline on Saturday 2 January at 1.30 PM GMT, and they do not carry over to the second half. Managers still enjoy up to five free transfers, even if a chip is employed.
