Readers Open to Vote for Cincinnati High School Spring Athletes of the Year

Spring Sports Readers’ Choice Ballots Opened July 6

The Enquirer launched its Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine readers’ choice Athletes of the Year ballot for Greater Cincinnati high school spring sports on July 6. All 45 weekly winners from the 2025‑2026 season are now included, along with the athletes already honored at the 2026 High School Sports Awards held on June 16. Readers can cast their votes to shape the final list of spring‑season athletes of the year.

Ballots are divided by season, with the spring‑sports voting period extending through Friday, July 10. Fall and winter sports ballots closed earlier in the year. Voters may submit one hourly vote via desktop, the Cincinnati.com mobile site, or the Cincinnati.com app, with a hard deadline of 4 p.m. on the final voting day.

How the Readers’ Choice System Works

Each ballot pulls together every Athlete of the Week winner recognized during the 2025‑2026 school year. If a particular weekly winner does not appear on their respective spring‑sports ballot, readers can email [email protected] to request an update. To avoid duplicate voting on shared networks, the system treats Wi‑Fi as a single IP address, so users on communal connections should temporarily disconnect their devices between hourly votes.

Why Reader Input Matters

While the Enquirer’s June 16 awards ceremony already spotlighted standout performers, the readers’ choice ballot lets the broader fan base have the final say. This dual‑process approach gives both the newspaper’s editors and the community a voice in celebrating the season’s most memorable high school athletes across basketball, wrestling, bowling, swimming, soccer, cross‑country, volleyball, golf, tennis, and more.
