FC Barcelona Pre‑Season Schedule 2024
FC Barcelona’s preparations for the new season are almost fully scheduled, with Hansi Flick’s side adding another friendly to an already busy preseason programme. The club’s fitness calendar kicks off on 13 July at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despi. Players will undergo the traditional medical examinations and physical‑fitness tests before beginning preseason training.
After roughly two weeks of work at the training complex, Barcelona will play their first summer friendly against CE Europa on 24 July. The match will be held behind closed doors at the club’s facilities. The image below captures the scene from a recent pre‑season training session.
Barcelona will then travel to England for a preseason training camp from 27 July to 2 August. The squad will put up base at the England national team’s St George’s Park facilities. During that stay, Flick’s team will face Birmingham City in a pre‑season friendly on 31 July at St Andrew’s Stadium.

A third fixture had already been reported earlier, with Barcelona scheduled to face Udinese on 8 August. Now the plans have expanded into a triangular tournament in Udine. In addition to Udinese, Nottingham Forest will also participate, with all three clubs taking part on the same day. This format gives Barcelona two matches in a single weekend, a schedule similar to previous seasons when the club hosted multi‑team events.
Beyond the confirmed games, Barcelona could still add further matches before the competitive season begins. The club has received proposals to play friendlies in Rabat (Morocco) and Nairobi (Kenya), though neither fixture has been confirmed. Also, Barcelona are expected to play another behind‑closed‑doors friendly during their England camp, with Watford and Stoke City among the clubs being considered.
Barcelona’s pre‑season will conclude with the traditional Joan Gamper Trophy on 19 August. However, the opponent has not yet been officially confirmed. One of the clubs linked with the fixture is Al Ahly of Egypt, although no final agreement has been announced. Securing a strong opponent for this historic match will be key for Flick’s side to assess form ahead of the league campaign.
