Barcelona Secure Karim Adeyemi in €22M Deal
Financial Terms and Add‑Ons
Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have completed a rapid transfer of German forward Karim Adeyemi. The clubs agreed on a €22 million fixed fee, with performance‑related add‑ons that initially floated at €7 million according to Fabrizio Romano. Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger later clarified the bonuses are actually set at €9 million, slightly higher than first reported.
To ease the immediate cost, Dortmund negotiated a 35 % sell‑on clause on any future transfer fee for the 24‑year‑old. This structure keeps the upfront outlay manageable while giving the German side a stake in any later sale.

Contract and Salary Details
Adeyemi is tied to the Catalan club until June 2031 on a five‑year agreement. The German international will take home a net €6 million per season, a salary that reflects Barcelona’s investment in his abilities.
He is slated to travel to Barcelona shortly for mandatory medical examinations before the move is finalised. The medical is the final step in a process that has moved quickly since the initial agreement.

Why Barcelona Pursued Adeyemi
Manager Hansi Flick sees the versatile attacker as a perfect fit for his pressing system and speed‑oriented attack. Flick, who gave Adeyemi his senior Germany debut, believes the player can add intensity to the frontline.
The signing, alongside the earlier capture of Anthony Gordon, bolsters Barcelona’s depth in the wide areas and provides more options on the flanks. Adeyemi’s arrival is viewed as a tactical upgrade for the squad.
With the forward now secured, Barcelona’s immediate focus shifts to landing a new centre‑forward, with Julian Alvarez emerging as the top priority target.
