Chelsea Set Pricing Chalobah as Italian Clubs Show Interest
Chelsea Look to Offload Chalobah
Chelsea are actively trying to move Trevoh Chalobah away this summer after the defender’s value became a point of contention. The Blues have reached out to Como to restart talks, yet they have yet to lock in a price that satisfies all parties. Inter Milan’s interest existed, but the Italian giants have temporarily hit the brakes on their pursuit. Both clubs have also agreed not to launch a bidding war, preferring to explore other options.
Como and Inter Keep Their Options Open
Como remain one of the clubs most keen on signing Chalobah, but they are also circling Galatasaray centre‑back Davinson Sánchez as a backup plan. The club’s head coach, Cesc Fabregas, has reportedly given the green light for pursuing a new defender should Chalobah not materialise. Inter, after missing out on other targets, have shifted focus to a wing‑back and pushed Chalobah down their priority list. They could still return to the table later in the transfer window.
What Lies Ahead for Chalobah
Chelsea believe Chalobah is worth a fee nearer £30 m, well above the €25 m (£21.3 m) bid Inter made earlier. Neither Italian club is prepared to meet that asking price at present, leaving the player in a state of limbo. With Inter and Como agreeing not to compete aggressively, the usual market pressure that drives up prices is absent. The most likely scenario is a move to Italy, though it may require Chelsea to accept a reduced offer to get the deal done.
