Beau Greaves Makes PDC History with European Tour Qualifiers
Historic Qualification Wins
Beau Greaves made darts history by becoming the first woman to qualify for a PDC European Tour event. The 22‑year‑old sealed her spot in the Hungarian Darts Trophy with a 6‑4 victory over Tom Bissell in the European Tour 11 qualifier at Leicester. This win marks a major breakthrough for women in a traditionally male‑dominated circuit.
She followed up her early success by squeezing past Lukas Wenig 6‑5 in the European Tour 12 qualifier. That narrow margin earned her a berth in the Czech Darts Open scheduled for September. The back‑to‑back qualifiers highlight her ability to stay calm under intense pressure.
Milestones in Her PDC Career
Greaves already holds two other pioneering records on the PDC ProTour. In April she became the first woman to capture a PDC ranking title, beating Michael Smith in the final. She also recorded the first nine‑dart finish by a woman on the ProTour when she dispatched Mensur Suljovic in February. These achievements set the stage for her latest breakthrough.
Reaction and Outlook
Greaves posted on Instagram: “The heat is no joke but got the job done in qualifiers. Hungarian Darts Trophy and Czech Darts Open here we come!” The social media update underscored the physical demands of the qualifier sessions. Fans and fellow players praised her resilience and sporting spirit.
Qualifying for the European Tour opens doors to larger prize pools and heightened visibility for future female competitors. Her rise illustrates that the gender barrier in professional darts is becoming increasingly permeable. If she continues this upward trend, more women may soon follow her path onto the main tour.
