ICC chairman Jay Shah posted a heartfelt message on X, praising Zadran’s role in Afghanistan’s rise on the world stage. Shah highlighted the all‑round performance against Scotland in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, which secured Afghanistan’s first‑ever World Cup victory. In his tribute he noted that Zadran “played a significant role in Afghanistan’s remarkable rise in international cricket” and expressed condolences to his family and the cricket fraternity.
