Agreement Finalised With DFB And Red Bull

According to Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger, the deal for Jürgen Klopp to become the next Bundestrainer is all but complete. Berger reports that Klopp, the German Football Federation (DFB), and Red Bull have sorted out every final detail, clearing the way for a smooth transition. The agreement also includes a secret meeting in New York between Klopp and Red Bull’s Oliver Mintzlaff, which was described as “mission accomplished.”

Florian Plettenberg, Berger’s colleague, added that Klopp will replace Julian Nagelsmann as Germany’s head coach on a full‑time basis. The contract runs through the 2030 World Cup, and the DFB has reached an agreement in principle with Red Bull regarding Klopp’s exit from his current club. Plettenberg confirmed that the final paperwork involving Klopp’s commercial partners will be finalised after the World Cup final.

Contract Signing And Official Announcement

The plan is for Klopp to sign his contract in Frankfurt on Friday, with the same day earmarked for the official unveiling at a DFB press conference. Sources indicate that everything is on track for the document to be inked as early as this Friday, pending the final DFB announcement. The signing ceremony will be held in Frankfurt, a city symbolic of German football heritage.

If all proceeds without hiccups, Klopp will be introduced to the public shortly after the contract is signed, marking the end of a prolonged search for Germany’s new coach. At present, the only outstanding step is the formal communication from the DFB to confirm the appointment. Once that occurs, the national team will officially have its new leader for the upcoming qualifiers and the 2030 World Cup.
