Kansas State Set to Wear Green with Monster Energy Deal

Big 12’s Green Uniform Push

Kansas State fans have long wanted lavender accents on the Wildcats’ football gear. Instead, the entire conference will splash a fresh shade of green across all uniform collections. Commissioner Brett Yormark unveiled the new branding during Big 12 Media Days on Tuesday, July 7, in Frisco, Texas.

The agreement brings a Monster Energy patch that will sit alongside the Big 12 logo on football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball jerseys. In‑stadium and arena courts will also carry the Monster logo, creating a consistent visual echo from field to court.

Deal Details and Financial Impact

Each Big 12 institution will receive roughly $1 million per year from the partnership, though many insiders argue the figure falls short of the league’s television and streaming revenues. Kansas State’s athletic director Gene Taylor said the Monster crest will sit directly over the Big 12 emblem, with no option to switch to purple or white. “It has to be green,” Taylor emphasized.

Taylor added that the Wildcats are on track for at least two more uniform changes before the next season. A local sponsor for an on‑jersey logo and a naming partnership for Bill Snyder Family Stadium are both in the final stages.

What the Change Means for Fans

For Kansas State supporters, the green accent replaces the lavender they had hoped for, but it still signals a notable shift in the program’s visual identity. The addition of the Monster patch will be visible on the field and in the stands for both football and basketball fans. Taylor hopes all the new branding elements are in place before the first game of the 2026 campaign.

Although the financial package is modest compared with other Power‑Five conferences, the exposure of the Monster brand on multiple platforms could open doors for future sponsorship opportunities. The green hue also ties directly into the university’s historic use of the color in athletics, reinforcing a long‑standing tradition.
