Kentucky’s La Familia Takes on The Ville in TBT 2026
July brings a fierce rivalry for Kentucky fans as La Familia opens its 2026 campaign in The Basketball Tournament. This year’s TBT features just 16 teams, and the opening round has switched to a best‑of‑three format. The winning side moves on to the traditional knockout stage of the $2 million winner‑take‑all prize pool.
La Familia’s lineup is anchored by former Wildcat stalwarts: Willie Cauley‑Stein, Andrew Harrison, DeAndre Liggins, Archie Goodwin, and Kahlil Whitney. Head coach Jon Hood, another ex‑Kentucky player, will steer the group. Goodwin, however, will miss the first game due to a scheduling conflict but is slated to return for Game 2.
Game 1 is slated for Saturday, July 18, at 12 p.m. ET at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, airing on FOX. The rematch lands Monday, July 20, at 7 p.m. ET in Louisville’s Freedom Hall on FS1. If a third contest is needed, it will take place Wednesday, July 22, at 6 p.m. ET back in Lexington, also on FS1. Fans can grab tickets here.
A “Tweet of the Day” captures the buzz: “Love how active Coach has been lately.” The comment hints at optimism ahead of the series.
