Manu Kone Set to Join United as Roma Accept £30m Bid

Man United Target Roma’s Manu Kone

Manchester United are gearing up for a summer move to bring AS Roma’s French midfielder Manu Kone to Old Trafford. The Red Devils have already added depth with recent signings like Andrey Santos, who impressed in a showing against Wrexham, and Youri Tielemans, still on a break after the World Cup. United’s midfield overhaul appears set to continue, with Kone high on their shortlist.

Roma Ready to Listen to Offers for Manu Kone

Roma are “reluctantly preparing to accept offers” for the 25‑year‑old, according to Football Insider. The club moved Kone from Borussia Mönchengladbach for a fee that now makes any big‑money bid hard to turn down, despite the player having three years left on his contract. “Due to their finances, they would find it very hard to turn down any big‑money offers for Manu Kone in this summer transfer window,” reporter Pete O’Rourke explained.

Kone’s blend of athleticism, tactical intelligence and composed play in possession has earned him praise, with European expert Andy Brassell calling him “enormously underrated.” At 6 ft 1 in, the midfield dynamo adds both physicality and vision to a United side looking for options in the middle.

United Expected to Make a Formal Bid for Kone

Friday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reported that United have already approached the player’s camp and learned he is fully open to the transfer, even though his dream club remains Paris Saint‑Germain. The Italian outlet says United are “expected to submit offers in the coming days,” positioning Kone as their priority third signing this window.

With his promising World Cup campaign for France now over, interest in Kone’s arrival is intensifying. The deal could be finalized soon, giving Erik ten Hag a new midfield option ahead of the next Premier League season.

The potential acquisition adds a dynamic French presence to United’s ranks, complementing the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro while addressing depth concerns in the engine room. If the offer materialises, it would mark a significant step in United’s rebuild, sealing a deal that could reshape their midfield balance for the coming campaign.
