Frustrated by UFC Matchmaking

Page voiced his discontent on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” describing a frustrating struggle to land top‑tier opponents. He said he has sent UFC officials a list of nearly 30 names across welterweight and middleweight divisions, only to receive excuses about injuries or other commitments. “Anybody that says yes—let me get in there with them,” he remarked, emphasizing his willingness to fight any available contender. The prolonged wait has left him uncertain about his standing within the organization.

New Opponent at UFC Paris

His next fight is set for UFC Paris in September, where he will face unheralded Nursulton Ruziboev. Page has described Ruziboev as a solid opponent, but he continues to stress that he wants higher‑profile matchups. The bout marks another step in a contract year where every fight could be his last under the UFC banner.

Before the fight, Page reflected on his recent path, noting that even after beating Sharaputdin Magomedov in early 2025, the promotion’s interest in his career seemed inconsistent. He remains eager to prove his competitiveness and to push for a clear route to a championship opportunity.

At 39, Page still aims to capture a UFC title, insisting that he feels fast, strong, and ready to compete at the highest level. He has asked the UFC for a detailed plan—named opponents, timeline, and steps needed—to secure a championship run. Securing a contract extension and a roadmap from the promotion would, he says, help him refocus and maintain momentum for the remainder of his deal.
