MLB All-Star Village Opens in Philadelphia for Fans
Where the Action Unfolds
The Capital One All‑Star Village takes over the Pennsylvania Convention Center, welcoming fans on Saturday morning with a spacious, interactive baseball celebration ahead of the All‑Star Game. Inside, attendees can explore two full‑sized diamonds, virtual‑reality experiences, and a variety of interactive displays designed for hands‑on engagement. Senior Manager of Global Events for MLB Robert Field says the layout is built to give fans room to roam and discover. The venue remains ticketed and stays open through Tuesday, coinciding with the main All‑Star events.
Fan Fare and Food
The attraction covers roughly 500,000 square feet, offering ample space to eat, play, and pick up team merchandise. Food stalls highlight classic ballpark favorites from across the country, with a standout item being a “9th inning Sombrero” sourced from the Houston Texans’ fan zone. Aramark’s Jim Wolf describes the dish as a family‑friendly plate that seats four and includes chips and dips. The variety of culinary options adds to the festive atmosphere of the village.
Stars Take Center Stage
Three former Phillies—Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, and Ryan Howard—are scheduled to host a podcast recording inside the village on Tuesday, giving fans a chance to hear baseball insights live. Down the corridor, the MLB Draft stage will host a highly anticipated moment when the commissioner announces the first pick, a scene that often changes athletes’ careers. Robert Field notes that these appearances and the draft ceremony are key draws for the weekend’s schedule.
Getting There and When
Tickets are required for entry, and gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with the village remaining accessible until Tuesday. To accommodate the event, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday as part of a separate 100‑year birthday celebration. Fans are advised to plan routes and timing accordingly to avoid delays.
