PSV Moves On Two Defenders After Two Decades With Obispo
Armando Obispo’s Two‑Decade PSV Journey Ends
PSV has agreed a €5.5 million fee with Ligue 1 side Lens to release Armando Obispo. The veteran defender entered the final year of his contract after spending nearly his entire career at the club, aside from a loan spell at Vitesse during the 2019‑20 season. He recorded 130 first‑team appearances and seven goals, and he also featured for Curaçao in their 2026 World Cup debut, playing the full 90 minutes in each of three matches.
Adamo Nagalo Heads to Turkish side Corum FK
The 23‑year‑old Burkina Faso international will join newly promoted Corum FK after a brief loan at Konyaspor late last season. Nagalo came through Danish club Nordsjaelland, where he made 114 appearances between 2021 and 2024 before moving to PSV. He earned only 12 caps for the Eindhoven side and now returns to Türkiye.
What It Means for PSV’s Defensive Plans
Selling two defenders reshapes PSV’s back‑line just as the club looks to retain its domestic title. The €5.5m received for Obispo exceeds Lens’s original €4m offer, giving PSV a modest profit on a player who had been a stalwart for years. Nagalo’s departure frees a young spot, while Lens gains an experienced centre‑back who can also add international experience from Curaçao.
The moves underline a shifting philosophy at PSV, balancing financial gains with the need to field a competitive squad for upcoming European competitions.
