Claremore Sends Three Squads to Branson
Claremore entered the camp with all three high school teams—varsity, junior varsity and freshman—thanks to strong support from its booster club and coaching staff. The varsity Lady Zebras posted a 10‑6 record in the top bracket and even swept the eventual champion during pool play. Their performance underscored the depth of the program and the effectiveness of the team’s preparation.
The junior varsity mirrored the varsity success with a 10‑6 mark and a spot in the top JV bracket, while the freshman squad finished 8‑8 despite facing the same high‑level competition. Program officials celebrated the trip, noting that “the smiles and records confirm the journey was a massive success.” The combined results illustrate a well‑rounded approach to player development across all age groups.
Other County Contenders Make Their Mark
Sequoyah’s players spent four days in high‑volume live matches before advancing to the single‑elimination tournament, adding valuable game time to their resumes. The Lady Eagles went beyond volleyball, strengthening team chemistry with a visit to Silver Dollar City and several group outings. Their coach remarked that “the chemistry built this week is going to carry us far,” highlighting the importance of unity off the court.
Inola focused on growth after both teams competed, with the Lady Longhorn varsity falling to Decatur Unity—a private school from Illinois—in the opening round. Their JV squad made a deep run, reaching the championship before losing to Verdigris. Off the court, Inola players enjoyed nightly devotionals, roller coasters, board games and team meals, finishing with a planned midnight practice session before heading home.
Oologah posted an impressive 13‑6 overall record, while Catoosa showed steady improvement throughout the week. The Lady Indians opened 5‑3 on Day 1 and followed with a 4‑2 mark on Day 2, and Catoosa’s varsity advanced to its bracket’s championship match after defeating Conway and Edison. These performances illustrate the competitive depth across Rogers County.
