Payments are calculated at about $5,000 per day for each player released by their national team.

Timing played a role in Arsenal’s final payout; a five‑day delay caused by the Champions League final meant the club missed about $500,000 in compensation. Even with that shortfall, the Gunners still walked away with a net positive from their World Cup involvement. Eight Arsenal players featured through the tournament’s final weekend, underscoring a productive international run.

For most clubs, this injection of cash is a modest supplement that could fund an academy signing or a training‑facility upgrade. Nonetheless, the larger story is FIFA’s move to share revenue as international fixtures become more frequent.
