Tony Romo Seeks Third American Century Title

Recent Wins and Struggles

Tony Romo has captured the American Century Championship three times, triumphing in 2018, 2019 and again in 2022. He has logged 13 appearances at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada. After finishing eighth in 2025, Romo admits a dip in form caused by a wrist injury in 2020 and a year away from the game.

Romo says the injury forced a long break, and when he returned his chipping and driving lost some of their edge. He spent a winter sharpening his game and credits time on the Korn Ferry Tour for teaching him the value of putting practice. “I think it’s because I stunk at golf for a few years,” he explained, noting the rough patch.

Comeback Timeline

Now declaring himself fully healthy, Romo is ready to tee up in July for the 2026 event. He describes feeling confident enough to play without excessive practice swings slowing his group. The 2026 tournament will run Friday through Sunday at Edgewood.
