Born in Bari on 4 September 1973, Emiliano Bigica devoted his entire life to football, first in the youth ranks of his hometown club. At age 20 he captained Bari to Serie A promotion, a feat that highlighted his emerging leadership. The next season he lifted the UEFA European Under‑21 Championship with Italy while still wearing the captain’s armband.

Senior Triumphs with Fiorentina
